Fruit of the Spirit Blog Hop

Welcome to another Faith Blog Hop presented to you by Paper Tree House Studio!  If you have been following the hop then you should be arriving here from the wonderful Karel's blog.  Isn't she just amazing! I love the inspirational music that she has on her blog!  If you just came across this hop, then go to My Paper Tree House to catch the beginning of the hop.

I want to thank Nana for allowing me to participate with this wonderful group of ladies.  Not only are they talented but they are also wanting to spread the word of God and what better way to do it but their own talents?

Every month a group of bold women gather to make the Name of the Lord famous and to share the talents we have been given by Him.  We also like to share a little bit of Truth that we have learned from the Bible and/or a bit about how He has impacted our lives.  This month the theme is “The Fruit of the Spirit”.

In Galatians 5:22-23 we find the following definition: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.”

If you are not experiencing one of the characteristic of His Spirit in your life, pray that the Lord would cleanse you and purify you.  He is into the business of completing those He saves.  My prayer is that you would draw near to the Lord and that He in turn will draw near to you.

My Random Act of Kindness
I can't help but think how kindness seems to dwell in my heart so much.  I work in heavily homeless populated area (Downtown Miami).  Although I can't do this all the time, the times that I can, I will go and buy lunch for the homeless or if I have left over from my own lunch, I will give it to them.  The smile on their face is priceless and all I do is smile back and say "God bless you".  In the same way that I try to help the homeless in more than just this way, I try to help other people when they are in need.  I feel that because I bare one of the fruits of the spirit, I am blessed in more ways than one with health, love, wonderful family and great friends.

For my project, I created a digital scrapbook page.  I am beginning a faithbook and what a great way for me to add something to it that I can share in this blog hop!  I used my Creative Memories software and I'm also going to be giving this to my Mom for mother's day in a nicely decorated shawdowbox (I'm truly trying to multitask!)

The same way that the Lord blesses those He loves we want to bless you.  We have found an amazing line-up of sponsors and we want to share with you what you could win by hopping around with us:

Zutter: Distrezz-it-All

I am also giving away my own candy.  All you have to do in addition to leaving a comment is become a follower on my blog and tell me one of your random acts of kindness.  My sponsor today is Joy from Joy's Life.  I am giving away one of her awesome stamp sets, All Around Sentiments Stamps.  You can check out the rest of her stamps by clicking here.

Joy's Life Design Team Thursday

Today is a very exciting day for me because it is my first posting for the Joy's Life Design Team Thursday!!! For this week, the theme was romance/love/anniversary etc, etc.  This was mainly because Joy's wedding anniversary is coming up on April 24th (Happy Anniversary Joy!), so when I found this out, I revealed my own wedding anniversary which was (surprise, surprise) the same day!!! I have been married to wonderful man for 17 years who supports my crazy hobby.  My life is truly blessed with him in it and our three children.  So in honor of both of our anniversaries, I made this cute card using a sentiment from the You're so Punny Stamp collection.

I used a Kich n Bleus digi stamp colored with tombow markers (I'm not brave enough to try copics, but I think I'm going to give Prismacolor pencils a try!), American Cards vellum paper and Joy's Life You're so Punny collection.  You can see all her wonderful stamps by clicking here.  Hope you enjoy it and although St. Patrick's day is already over, may good luck find you always!!!  Don't forget to check out the rest of the design team.  You can find the line up in Joy's blog!  God bless!

Today is all about celebrating one of my special friend's birthday.  Kimi from Lovebug Creations is celebrating her 28th birthday and she has invited some of her friends to celebrate with her.  I am so thankful for Kimi!  Her an I met through Michelle from Scrappin with My Bug and she gave me an opportunity to participate in my first blog hop.  Since then, it has been all fun and games with her.  I'm so thankful to have met her and to honestly call her a friend!

For her birthday I made her this card:
Unopened

Front - open

Back - open

I used the Don Juan cricut cartridge, Pink by Design Take the Cake stamps, Peachy Keen Stamps princess face assortment stamps, Erin Lee Creative's My Favorite Things paperstock (blue), Creative Memories cardstock, DCWV birthday green paper. This is the first time that I created an accordion card.  It was a lot of fun to make and I hope my friend Kimi enjoys it!

Do you think this is it?  Well............SURPRISE KIM!!!! Guess what? there's more than one more project! Look at this cute shadow frame I made for you!  I hope you enjoy it as well!!!  You should be getting both of these projects in the mail soon! ;-)

In the shadow box

Better picture out of the shadow box (no glare, need to practice with that!)

added a little dimension

For the layout, I used a  pattern cardstock from the DCWV Green Stack collection, the celebrate background from KI Memories, the solid cardstock is from DCWV Citrus cardstock collection.  I also used the Joy's Life Wild Life Puns Stamp Collection and the bird is from Imagine Best Friends cartridge.  I embellished it with some layered flowers, stickles and a little bling.

Now what's a blog hop without some blog candy? Sarah over at Pink Cricut has graciously offered to sponsor this hop for me.  Here's what you can win:

This is the Grow stamp of the month and it retails for $27.99.  I personally love her stamp of the month and to be able to offer this as blog candy is great!  All you have to do is leave a comment below.  You don't need to be a follower, but I would love for you to do so! :)  The blog hop will be going through April 18th which gives you time to go through all the blogs.  I will pick a winner on April 20th to give a little extra time.

Whimsical Wednesday Challenge #2

Welcome to another Whimsical Wednesday Challenge! This week is all about cards and spring. The theme is "April showers bring May flowers". Look at this cutie card!! :)

I created this card using the create a critter cartridge for the umbrella and embossed it the birds and swirls embossing folder.  I also lightly stamped the umbrella with some orange ink.  The stamp with the boots and sentiment is from Great Impressions.  I used to take a stamp of the month class with these stamps and registered for this one, but never went.  So I was given the supplies and told do what you like with it.  This was over a year ago and who would have thought that I would've had the perfect design team assignment for it!  I was really happyt hat I hung on to it.  I also used some bling and tombow markers to color the stamp.

This week's sponsor is Emma from My Creative Time. To join the fun and see what you can win click here and it will take you to the Whimsical Wednesday blog.  It must include one of the following elements; umbrella, rain boots, rain drops or flowers. Remember that you have 2 weeks to submit the project.

Hope you enjoyed my card and that you join in the fun! God bless!

Scrapbookaholic by Abby Challenge #3

Welcome to another Scrapbookaholic by Abby challenge.  This week it's all about raising awareness against animal cruelty.  The ASPCA has an important annual event in April. It is the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Month. Each year, the ASPCA urges supporters across the country to support their efforts and "Go Orange for Animals".   You can click here to see the different things you can do to help this organization or the things that you can do within your own community.  I personally have always adopted my pets from various organizations.  I believe that animals that have been abused, deserve to get a second chance in a good home.  My first adopted dog, Ginger, was dropped off at a center with a note that said, "my owner beats me and my neighbor saved me.  Please find me a good home".  We fell in love with her.  She was just 3 months old and when we brought her home she would not leave the corner because she was so scared.  Ginger was part of the family and it tooks us some time to rehabilitate her, but she came around.  Unfortunately, she got lose one day and we lost her to a car hitting her.  But she is always remembered as the best dog in the world!

So in order to help raise awareness, the challenge this week is to create something with an animal and to use the color orange.  Below is a little card that I created.

I used Create a critter and Pink by Design stamp and embelished with some stickles, flowers and ribbon.  It was very easy to make, but I love all the cheery colors and it's perfect for someone who needs a little lifting up.  So join the fun and visit Abby's blog to link up your project! This week's challenge is being sponsored by Oh My Crafts.  It's a $15 certificate to their store (who can't use a little extra cash for crafting!).  Don't miss out and start on your project! The challenge ends on April 23rd.

Hope you enjoyed it my little card and God bless!
