Hi Everyone! I am so honored and excited to announce that I will be designing for Link Up For Pink!! I will be working with Yolie and Celeste along with a few other talented crafters to bring out breast cancer awareness to our crafting community. There will be many challenges to enter and in October there will be Link Up For Pink event. We hope that you will take the opportunity and join us in spreading awareness and enter our challenges. This cause is very close and dear to my heart as I have very a couple of special friends that are battling this disease and I'm so proud to be able to make a difference and spread awareness through my creativity.
I plan to write for every post a simple fact about breast cancer and include a story of someone that has experienced breast cancer in the hopes to spread more awareness. So for my first fact and story:
"Did you know that breast cancer is the most common cancer in women regardless of the race or ethnicity?" This goes to show how important it is for you ladies to go make your appointments and get checked, regardless of how good your family health history is. The story below can explain more about a family history with no breast cancer:
Here is Nancy's story - I am a 2 1/2 year breast cancer survivor. Luckily, my cancer was caught by mammogram in the very early stages. It was a stage 1 cancer. I had a lumpectomy and all the lymph nodes removed under the arm on that side. The nodes were all clear. I was able to get by without chemo, but I had 35 radiation treatments. God truly blessed me.
You can click on her name to read her full story. I sure hope that these little facts and stories will push every single one of you to take this serious and to get your mammo's done in a timely manner. Remember....
We must save the TATAS!
So to encourage participation and know that the word is awareness is being spread, I will be doing a small surprise giveaway during every posting. I promise it will be something you all could use! :)

I had my own scare with breast cancer a few months ago, luckily my biopsy was negative. Since then I am more sensitive to what breast cancer survivors go through and encourage all my friends to get regular mammograms.

Congratulations! I am so happy to take a part of this again... I am very inspired by Nancy's story and so many other women's and men's stories with breast cancer... undergoing one radiation treatment would kick anyones butt, but going through 35 is grueling I am so happy she didn't need the chemotherapy and that she is a survivor to share and remind us all to keep getting checked. Thank you so much!
Lisa
Thank you for your story Nancy, and to you Zend for sharing it. We have so many amazing women and men who face this disease on a regular basis (I see it everyday as I am a hospice social worker). 35 Radiation treatments! I am inspired by you as you are Strong!! Much Love

Wow! Nancy's thank you for your story, I have always beleived that prayer is what has saved me and still is. I have cancer now in my bones and right now there is no treatment other than surgery which I've had 6 times on my leg which is where it is. I have MRI's every month to make sure it isn't spreading and growing as next time they will take my leg, which I'm alright with as I'll still be alive. God has given me 17 years with this and I'm still fighting and will never stop. Thank you so much Zeni for having this site and sharing this story.
Thank you for sharing. Awareness is important. A great cause.
