Merry Christmas!!!

I can't believe it, but Christmas is almost here and I'm sick! I am feeling a little better than last night, so when I get home from work today I will hopefully be able to finish all my other gifts.  This past weekend I finished the card gift sets and I wanted to share these with you.  Some of the cards that I included were designed with Peachy Keen Stamps and Pink by Design stamps.  I love the cute little faces from the Peachy Keen Stamps and you can do so much with them to bring your projects to live.  The cards are very simple for the sake of saving time and mass production and I used my cricut sampler and create a critter cartridge for most of them.

I want to take this opportunity to thank all of my friends and wish them all a very Merry Christmas and a most wonderful new year. I know that this year will bring lots of new friends, fun and entertainment to the crafting blogging world.  May you all enjoy your time with your family and God bless you all!

Rockstar Cheer Shadow Box

My girls Lizzie and Jessica are part of a cheerleading team named Rockstar Cheer.  Rockstar is more than just a cheerleading gym.  It has become our home and our extended family.  The coaches spend a lot of time with the kids and really push them to the best of their ability.  I can tell you that lives have changed because they came across this gym and have felt the same way that I do.  I'm really proud to call myself a Rockstar parent and to see my kids be so happy.  Not only having fun, but getting some structure, confidence and self esteem built into them.  They are learning to work as a team and it's all because of these wonderful coaches.

Because I appreciate them so much, I wanted to give them something for christmas that they have either in the gym or in the office.  I made 3 shadow boxes with the Rockstar them colors (black, pink, purple and zebra print), to abbreviate Rockstar Cheer (R, a star and C).  The coaches loved it and can't wait to display it.  It's simple but it adds a touch of love and that's what Rockstar is all about.

For the fonts I used the Rock Princess cartridge (aren't those letters cute with the hearts!) and for the star the Georges and Basics cartridge.

Christmas Goody Cups

Wow! I can't believe that Christmas is almost here.  I finally realized that I need to start getting my act together and get things done for the holidays, starting with my children since their last day of school will be on friday (yeay!!).  This year I decided to try and keep it simple (for the sake of saving time!) and purchased some holiday tumblers.  I filled them with some good holiday chocolate and lollipops and wrapped them in a snack bag.  I made a cute little tag to add a creative touch to it.  The tag was made from an Inkadinkado holiday gift tag set.  I inked the tag with the green stamp and stamped the tree with red.  I then inked the edge of the tag and embelished with stickles.  It was simple and really didn't take much time.  I hope the kids enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making them!

Special Thanks and a Cute Birthday Card

This year I've taken a leap of faith into the crafting world.  I'm truly thankful for the wonderful talented ladies that I have learned from, specifically Sarah PinkCricut, Michelle Criswell from Scrappin' with my bug and Liz Fraga from WhichCraft whom I've followed very closely.  As I continue on my journey, I'm enjoying making new friends, following new blogs and learning from others.  Just when I thought I wouldn't have friends to share my passion with, I began to learn more through facebook and blogging.  I'm truly amazed at the amount of talented ladies out there and I know that this will only encourage me to continue.  To all of you out there, BIG thanks for sharing your great talent!!

Today I got home from work and took the girls to their cheerleading practice (big competition on Sunday!!). When I got back home, I realized how far behind I was on some simple gifts that I want to do for some co-workers.  One of the things that I decided to do was to make cards and give them as gift sets.  So as I took a little time to put something together, I came up with a cute card which would be great for birthdays.  I used Create a Critter and Pink by Design Scripted Year stamp.  I just love the fonts in this stamp set! They really do help with creating cards for different occassions.  Hopefully this weekend I will be able to design some more so that I can start my mass production.  While you're here, I would love for you to become a follower!  Once I have 100 followers, I will do a give away.  But until then, I hope you enjoy this cute little card!  God bless you all!!

A Quick and Inexpensive Christmas Gift Idea

With the economy being so tight for so many, we all look for ways to save a little money.  Christmas is just around the corner and there are many people in our lives that we want to show our appreciating for and share this wonderful season with.  I wanted to give meaningful gifts to the special people in my life without having to spend too much money (there's a lot of them!).  I automatically thought, with all the supplies and tools that I have, I'm sure I can come up with something.

I remembered of something that I so appreciated and enjoyed doing a couple of months back.  I had the previlege to attend a scrapbooking class held by A Scrapbook Life with Angie and Jackie.  During this class we created a beautiful shadowbox.  I learned different techniques that allowed me to create a layout of my own and that I could give to family and close friends as christmas gifts for them to display in their home.  You can check out their blog at http://www.ascrapbooklife.blogspot.com/.  I hope you enjoy it!

Recipe: I used making memories pattern paper, Tim Holtz distressed ink for the edges of the torn paper and the top of the flower, accent essentials cartridge for the flower and frame, birthday bash cartridge for the font and sprayed the flower with perfect pearls mist (my favorite new spray!).

A new beginning....

My life has always consisted of normal things, such as caring for a family, home and going to work to provide for my both.  My family has always come first and will continue to be that way.  However, I never thought that I would have time for a hobby and therefore never really looked for one.  Until one day my dear friend Michelle showed me the beauty of scrapbooking and that was the beginning of a new part in my life. I began to buy stickers and papers, gather pictures and explore different tools.  I searched the internet for techniques and methods to paper crafting.  I poked around youtube for different videos on tools and before I knew it, I had a room full of paper crafting supplies (my favorite tool, the cricut expression and soon to upgrade imagine!!).  At that point it was not only about scrapbooking.  It then became card making and any other projects that involved paper, glitter and glue!  Crafting and blogging have become my way of making new friends, learning new things and just relaxing by looking at others' projects.  Because of this, I've decided to start my own blog to share with others not only what we have in common, but the crazy little things that happen in my life with my husband and three kids. I hope that I'm able to contribute to the blogging world and make new friends along the way.  This is my hobby, my escape and I love it!!

For my first posting is a christmas card that I've made. I used the winter frolic cartridge, swirls embossing folder and pink by design stamp.  I hope you enjoy it!
