Congrats On Your Little Rock Star Card

Good Monday everyone! I hope you had a wonderful and blessed weekend. It was my hubby's birthday this weekend, so crafting time was limited, but I was able to fit a little project in.  I received my Sophie cartridge from the Cricut Circle club and I'm so glad I got it because I totally love it! I made the dollie from the cut in this cartridge and I also use my sampler cartridge for the onesie cut.  Crafty Sprouts has an awesome stamp from the Are You Ready to Rock stamp set that went perfect with this baby card:

Don't forget to stop by the Crafty Sprouts Shop to check out Erika's awesome stamps!  There will be a release of new stamps next week, so stay tuned for some sneak peeks!  Hope you all have  a great day and God bless!

Spotlight Saturday

Welcome to another Spotlight Saturday!  For those of you visiting for the first time, every week I feature someone's blog on my blog. There are so many crafters and blogs out there with a wealth of knowledge and creativity and unfortunately like some of you, I'm not able to visit them all the time, but I know they are there. This is my way of giving them the recognition that they deserve and perhaps a few more followers ;-).

This week I am featuring another wonderfully talented lady, Heather from Stamp the Details. I met Heather through the Paper Hoarders Facebook Group.  She has a very unique way about her style and loves to stamp and color.
Here’s a little bit about Heather and her project:
Hi!  My name is Heather Strenzwilk and I've been stamping for 17 years.  I live with my husband and daughter in upstate NY.  In addition to taking care of my family, I work part time doing quality control and technical support for a small software company.  In my "spare" time I am on two design teams and I review products for an online craft blog (I love being paid in product!)  Card making was my first adult foray into paper crafting and is still my favorite because I love paper, ink and stamps.  I enjoy both rubber and digital stamping and often combine both in my work.  I finally broke down in January of this year and bought a Big Shot and a Slice and I don't know why I waited so long!

Thanks Scrappyzeni for inviting me to guest blog today.  We met on a papercrafting group on Facebook. She was looking for volunteers to be her guest and I took a chance and sent  a link to my blog and the rest is history!

My project is based on a ready to make matchbox kit from Martha Stewart.  I didn't like the covers that came with the kit so I cut one apart and made it into a pattern.  Each cover is a 3x6 piece of cardstock scored in a few places.  If I stamp the background I score after I stamp.  For the inside I used a pre-cut piece from the kit.  These can be made quickly- especially if you use a scoring board.  Fast and easy and a fun way to share a small treat.

Heather, thanks for agreeing to be on the "Spotlight".  Feel free to grab the Spotlight button on the right to display on your blog.
Please stop by her blog and leave her some love! I'm sure she will love it and along the way she can make a few new friends! May you all have a beautiful Saturday and God bless!

24 HR Tag Challenge at Paper Hoarders

Wow!! I have been on a crafting role this week!!!  Yesterday, I took the opportunity of being able to participate in a 24 hour challenge over at the Paper Hoarders Facebook Group page.  This is such a fun group of gals who love crafting, so if you would like to join make sure you let me know so I can send you an invite.  The great thing about this group is that you don't need to have a blog! All challenges are done directly on facebook and we get so many ideas and tips from each other.  There is even a chance to be on a rotating designing team.  Thanks to Tanya from Scrappin' KY Momma for putting this group together!

On to the challenge :)  The challenge was to create a tag with lace or paper that resemble lace. The lace I have was too big for this tag so I opted to use a lace punch from Recollections. I also used the curly label die cut from My Creative Time. The paper flowers and butterfly are from a Creative Memories collection and the sentiment is from the Crafty Sprouts Besties for Life stamp set.  Check out Erika's shop for her awesome stamps! She is so creative and has such a unique and fun style!

You still have a chance to leave a comment for a chance to win a Crafty Sprouts stamp set.  Just click here or go to the post below to leave a comment.  I will be picking a winner tomorrow morning!!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a beautiful day! God bless!

Crafty Friends and a Giveaway

Hi everyone! To show off the awesome Crafty Sprouts stamps, I wanted to do a quick card and do a giveaway today.   I used Lisa from the Simply Betty stamps DT Diva collection.  She's carrying her cute little "scrapbook" bag and I thought this "crafty friends are happy friends" sentiment for Crafty Sprouts "Besties for Life" stamp set complimented it very well.  She reminds me of me carrying all my supplies to the girls' cheerleading practice (gives me about 4 hours to kill twice a week!)

GIVEAWAY
Today I will be giving away a Crafty Sprouts stamp set and the lucky winner will also be a Guest Designer for Crafty Sprouts.  All you have to do is:

1.   Visit the Crafty Sprouts Shop
2.   Leave me a comment with your favorite sentiment and
from which stamp set it's from.

Easy peasy!!!!  I will announce the winner on Friday morning.  Everyone around the world is welcome, but the giveaway must stay in the U.S! Thanks for your understanding!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a beautiful day! God bless!

Ruby Tuesday and Winner of ecraft Back to School Blog Hop

Hi everyone! I made this card with another wonderful digi from Dee's Bugaboo Boutique.  These digis are so inspiring and can lift up anyone's day with a great message from God.  This week is 2 Corinthians 5:7 "We live by faith and not by sight"

What this means to me???  I don't have to see God to know of his glory and grace and to understand that he is all that I need to get through life.  This is my FAITH.

Dee asked how I did the distressing: I simply took a stipple brush and put some ink on it and dabbed it across the paper.  I love to use stipple brushes because you can add as much or as little as you want and you can use different colors together.  Hope you like this quick little technique!

So on to the winner of the Back to School blog hop.  Random.org chose

Everyone Needs a Computer Friend Like You!

Good Monday morning everyone!!! Today kids go back to school and a different routine has to get started.  I have one girl moving to middle school and the other moving to high school.  I had to the opportunity to go to the high school orientation this weekend and boy did it remind me a lot of when I was in high school!!  It's going to be a fun experience for her and just to think.... 4 years go by quickly!!!! (as I have tears in my eyes thinking about it!!).  Good luck to all the kids going back to school and remember to always strive to do your best!

So today I have a cute little card I made using Crafty Sprouts Besties for Life set and Simply Betty's Zoe Digi from the Veronica and Gang set.

Isn't she just the cutest with that little laptop?  I know you don't want to admit it but it looks just like us! (hehehe!).  When I found that digi, I thought it went perfect with the "everyone needs a computer friend like you" sentiment. I colored it with my prismacolor pencils and used some twine, some bling and some stickles.

Here's a closer look at the stamp set that I used, it's such a great set to keep in touch and send cute cards to all not just the friends that are close to you, but those that are far as well (like your blogging buddies!):

Hope you enjoyed the card and don't forget to go by Crafty Sprout's Shop to see the rest of her stamps!!  They are so cute and great quality.  Thanks for stopping by and God bless!

Spotlight Saturday

If you are looking of the Back to School
eCraft giveaway, please click here

It's Spotlight Saturday time again!! For those of you visiting for the first time, every week I feature someone's blog here at Scrappy Zeni's. There are so many crafters and blogs out there with a wealth of knowledge and creativity and unfortunately like some of you, I'm not able to visit them all the time, but I know they are there. This is my way of giving them the recognition that they deserve and perhaps a few more followers ;-).

This week I am featuring another wonderfully talented lady, Jill Angel from Crafty Creations by Jill.  Jill's birthday was yesterday so this is an extra special posting and I'm so honored to have her in the spotlight today.  Not only is Jill a crafter but she's also a baker! (if you go to her blog you will see what I'm talking about!).
Jill has made this super cute card to feature today.  Isn't this little doll just sassy?!!?!!

I met Jill in the Paper Hoarders Facebook Group.  There is a lot of talent in this group and the atmosphere is just so nice to share all ideas by everyone.  If you are crafter and would like to join this group, please let me know so I can invite you.  You can reach me by email at scrappyzeni@gmail.com.
Here’s a little bit about Jill:
My name is Jill Angel. I am a 38 year old, happily married, mom of 4 daughters, 2 dogs, a cat and a guinea pig. I was a full time hairstylist until I had my last 3 daughters within a year. Now I am mostly a stay at home mom only doing hair for a few special friends. I have a 14 year old, Ashley, about to start high school and 4 year old twins, Morgan & Megan, about to start preschool and I'll just have my 3 year old helper, Riley, home with me. I've always enjoyed crafty things and my hobby was cake decorating. My mom bought me a Cricut Expression before Cricut Cake came out, to use for cakes. Instead that thrust me into paper crafts. I recently became a Copic Certified Designer and they are my favorite items to work with! I don't have a lot of free time but when I do I like to make cards, stamped with my favorite Kraftin'Kimmie stamps, with The Greeting Farm stamps being a close second favorite. I have not been blogging long but I figured this would give me an incentive to keep creating and posting! I am excited to be in my first Blog Hop on August 22nd- a birthday themed hop, "29 again?" This should be a great hop with plenty of yummy blog candy! I would like to eventually get into scrapbooking more. I definitely have plenty to scrap about! I am so flattered to be featured on your Saturday Spotlight! I love to see the talent on blogs and blog hops and Zeni's is one of my favorites!

Thank you Jill for being so kind!!! I'm super honored to have you here! :)
Please stop by her blog and leave her some love! I'm sure she will love it and along the way she can make a few new friends! May you all have a beautiful Saturday and God bless!

Back to School Blog Hop

Welcome to the BACK TO SCHOOL BLOG HOP! We are all here to back to school by showing you amazing projects that have been designed with the fabulous and amazing eCraft.  .

If you just arrived here from Rosy's blog then you are in the right place. If you just happened upon my blog please start at the beginning over at Raven's blog.  That way you will be able to see all of the amazing
projects and you will have more ways to win.
I received my eCraft a few months ago and I have been experimenting with it a little here and there.  I love that you can look up any files online and just let your imagine run with it.  It's so easy to not have to buy one cartridge for a few images that you like and to just have exactly what you need at the click of the mouse.  I also like the clean cuts that you get from the ecraft.  It's truly an amazing machine!

For this hop I have created a note card gift set to give to a teacher as a welcome back to school gift.  This is great for the teacher to give students little notes throughout the year and to continue encouraging them and making them smile.  The gift set consists of note cards, envelopes and a gift box.  This was actually inspired from a post I had seen at Hand to Paper.  There are a lot of pictures posted below so brace yourself!

Here's a list of my supplies:
  • Mini Note Pad and Card Set and Matchbox file from The Cutting Cafe to make the envelopes and the box (I used Make the Cut software to import the files and cut with the eCraft).
  • The notepads were pdf files that were included with that set and I matted on cardstock.
  • The top of the box was matted with a page from DCWV Grade School stack and Creative Memories cardstock.
  • The flower punch (on the cover and on the envelopes) is from Creative Memories.
  • The For my Teacher stamp is from Joy's Life All Around Sentiment stamp set (I used the masking technique to only stamp the center).
  • Wide Eyed Kids Face Assortment from Peachy Keen Stamps to decorate the flower die cut on the envelope.
Okay so you probably want to know what you can win, right? As some of you may have heard from this hop this amazing eCraft machine that we are all using is created by CraftwellUSA.com. This company is really amazing, their customer service is fabulous and the products are top notch. Well when they heard about our hop they decided to giveaway (1) One eCraft to (1) One lucky winner (color may vary)!!!

In addition, I will be giving away a $10 gift certificate to Peachy Keen Stamps.  To be eligible for these prizes you must:

1) Please leave one comment here on my blog (Only one comment will be
qualify per person additional comments will not count.)
2) Become a follower of my blog.

3) Stop by eCraft's Facebook Page and like them to see more awesome projects and tutorials.

We are also having another blog hop on September 5th. ALL comments left today and on the September 5th blog hop will be eligible to win the eCraft so this will give you more chances to win. (1) One lucky winner will be announced on Raven's Blog on September 10th. The winner will also be listed on the eCraft's Facebook Page  (this is why it's a good idea to like them on facebook!)

All are welcome to hop, however the eCraft giveaway is only open to U.S. entries. Thank you so much for your understanding. Please be sure to comment by August 22, 2011.

Now you can hop along to Craftwell USA and check out more information, videos and projects that can be made with the eCraft!  Hope you had fun hopping and God bless!!!

Spotlight Saturday

It's Spotlight Saturday time again!!

This week I am featuring another wonderfully talented lady, Kathryn from Creations with Kathryn. Kathryn is super talented and creative with everything she does.  Her layouts are just adorable and she put so much detail into them.  She created this Post-it holder book.  I thought it was such a great idea for a gift!  I think I need one for my desk at work!! hint... hint.... ;-)

Here's a little bit about Kathryn:
"Hi, my name is Kathryn. I am a wife for 25+ years, with 3 wonderful children, with the oldest being 26 and the youngest being 10. I am also a mother to two adorable fur babies, who are like my real children.

This is a real honor to be asked to make a post for Scrappyzeni's Blog. She is so very talented and so much fun to chase around on Facebook, cause she is so dang funny. So a very big thank you to you Zeni.

I have been crafting all most all my life. I started scrapbooking back in 1980 and in the next 10 years I had been apart of DOTS (now Close to My Heart), Stampin Up, and Creative Memories. In 1990 I was learning stampin and not doing a very good job at it. I had a really hard time lining things up correctly. Well, I have not mastered the skill, but I am ok at it now. So that is how I started making cards and other little this and thats.

The project I created is a Post-It Holder Book. I used only scraps of papers that I had in my scrap bind. The stamps I used are from Stampin Up (Awash with Flowers and Friends 24-7). The images are colored using Prisma Color Pencils and paint thinner to blend the color. I inked the edge with Stampin Up Pumpkin Pie ink. The inside has a pocket with a note card inside to write on. The Book holds the regular size Post-Its and the 1/2 size Post-Its. The book also has a Pen holder to hold a standard Bic Pen. The 2 books vary in size, due to one holding 2 regular Post-It Note Pads and 2 of the 1/2 size ones.

I learned this off of YouTube from ChicnScratch. You can look it up under Post It Note Organizer"
Please stop by her blog and leave her some love! I'm sure she will love it and along the way she can make a few new friends!  May you all have a beautiful Saturday and God bless!

Friendship Card with Piper!!

Hi everyone and welcome back! I just wanted to share with you this cute little card I made with Piper from The Greeting Farm.  I got the stamp as a gift from my good friend Erika and I couldn't wait to color her.  I'm still working on trying out my ProMarkers and I'm sure within time I will get the hang of it.  Small areas tend to be a little challenging, but just like with everything else, practice is the key! So be sure to stop by and see if I've made any progress!!  For the sentiment, I used Market Street Stamps Simple Joys stamp set.  I really like the sentiments in this set and I thought this would make a great card for a great friend!

I hope you enjoyed my little card as much as I enjoyed creating it! Have a great day and God bless!
