Whimsical Wednesday Challenge #13

Welcome to another Whimsicial Wednesday Challenge.
This week both card team have come together for our challenge, to make get well cards for a very special little boy. Angelo, who is the grandson of Margie from Bella Bug Creations, is going through a very difficult time right now. He underwent brain surgery last week and will begin chemotherapy next week. You can read more about Angelo at this post over at Margie's blog by clicking here. We hope that you will all join us and make a card for Angelo too.

I found this cute digi from Stitchy Bear Stamps and was able to get it personalized just for Angelo.  It breaks my heart to hear that a child could be going through so much at such a young age.  I pray that God will be with him and heal him quickly from his illness and that he gives his family the strength they need to also get through this difficult time.

Please be sure to visit the Whimsical Wednesday Blog and link your project and card for Angelo there.  Also don't forget we will be having a great Blog Hop this weekend... Explosions Everywhere, where our talented ladies will be showing you different types of explosion boxes.

Have a great day and God bless you all!

Father's Love Blog Hop

Welcome to the Father's Love Faith Blog Hop. If you are following the hop you will have arrived here from Wendy Scrappings then you’re in the right place. If you want to follow along from the start then visit our sponsor, My Paper Tree House. Lots of participants have giveaways along the journey and if you want to enter those please follow their individual requirements.

At the end of every month a group of bold women gather to give Glory to God with the talents He has given us in a very loud way... :) Our prayer is that through the projects we have created you will be able to see Him in all of His Glory! May He touch you today as we look at the theme of the the Father's Love Letter.
For this theme, I've created a double page digital layout which I'm going to include in the faithbook that I'm making for my kids to have and look at when the Lord calls me home.  If there is any gift that I can leave them is the memory of how much I loved God and used the talent that he gave me to share the love he has for not just me for everyone.  The Father's Love is a letter to us that is composed of different bible verses and says how much God loves us all.  I knew God loves us, but when I read this letter, I truly understood that God LOVES us!!!  Here are my layouts:

The letters are kind of small, but if you click here you can read, watch or listen to it.  It's truly an awesome thing that was put together and I hope that you find peace in knowing that our heavenly father truly loves you.

People ask me why I seem to not worry about things at times.  Don't get me wrong... sometimes I do worry more than I should, but I truly believe that God's love and peace takes over those days and I realize that he is there for me and has everything under control.  That his love and mercy will get me through the worse problem that there is.  This always keeps me going.  I may be down, but not for long and that's all that counts!

Now let's talk about blog candy.  Below are the prizes that will be given:

Paper Tree House Studio: Scrapbooking Kit
Tombow: Amazing Adhesive Pack
Papperie: scrappy goodie bag
Scrappy Zeni: 8x8 DCWV Mango Frost Stack

In order to be considered for one of these prizes, please be sure to visit all the talented bold ladies and leave them some crafty love!  You must comment on each blog.  I listed all the participating below in case you missed someone. Thanks for stopping by and God bless!

    Joy's Life Design Team Thursday

Good Thursday everybody! I'm so happy for this week's DT project!!! We are being very patriotic and in honor of Independence Day I made this journal for a friend of mine's cousin who is in the service.  I though it would be good for him to write his thoughts while he's in the service and even pass it on to his child(ren) in the future.  So I really hope he likes it.

I used Joy's Be Bold stamp from the Mother and Daughter stamp set.  You can see all her stamp sets by clicking here.  I also used The Greeting Farm's Soldier Ian and colored him with prismacolor pencils.  I also added some glossy accent to the sunglasses.  The background paper is from reminisce and added a star ribbon and some rosette stickers.

We are taking a break from the design team to celebrate the 4th of July so we will see you again on July 7th!  God bless you all!

    Whimsical Wednesday Challenge #12

Happy Wednesday everybody and welcome to another Whimsical Wednesday Challenge.  This challenge is a patriotic challenge and you must use some bling, brads or buttons.  With Independence day right around the corner, I decided to do a 4th of July card and pay tribute to those that have fought so hard to give me the freedom that I have today.

I used two different kinds of 4th of July paper, one for the background and the other for the banner.  I used two different used some decorated rosettes that I had and star ribbon and added the bling on top.

Don't forget to link up your patriotic project on the Whimsical Wednesday Challenge Blog.  Have a great day and God Bless!

    Girl Scouts Bags

TGIF my friends!!! I'm so glad the end of the week is almost near! It's been a very busy week for me in all aspects, work, home and crafting!  I don't think there has ever been a week since I started crafting where I had a post every day of the week!  But it's been a lot of fun and I hope to do more weeks like these. :)

The last two nights I was tasked with helping my daughter's ex-girl scout group and making cute little bags for the leaders to put a gift in for their end of the year party (which they graciously invited her too as she will always be part of that girl scout trip in spirit!).  They wanted to make it fun and colorful for them, so I grabbed my K & Company Girl Scout stack and pulled out my cricut, used the Bags, Tags, Boxes and more cartridge and made these bags.

It really wasn't that hard, but it was 27 of them!!!!!  Joy's Life Scouts Rule stamp was just perfect touch for the bag.  That stamp can be found in the Wild Life Puns stamp set.  You can check out the rest of her products by clicking here.

Hope you all have a great weekend and don't forget to tune in tomorrow to see who will be featured on Spotlight Saturday!  God bless you all!

    A Sweet Quick Birthday Card

Hi everyone! I decided to pull out my imagine and try to do a quick card with it.  I was inspired by my good friend Tanya over at Scrappin KY Momma, who does quick and easy imagine cards a lot.  I figured, I really need to try this and put my imagine to good use.  So I decided to pull it out and use my Better Together cartridge and Pink by Design's Cupcake background stamp and this is what I came up with.  Added some ribbon, stickles and some glam rock pearls and voila!

Thanks for stopping by! Don't forget that we will have the Beach Party Blog and Explosions Everywhere blog hop coming up.  I am hosting the Explosions Everywhere blog hop along with my good friend Erika from Cricut Love and the Grand Prize will be a YourStory Photo Binding Kit along with winner's choice of Kich N Bleus Designs stamp set!  So mark your calendars for these two great hops!

A Friend Loves at all Times Card

Good Tuesday morning everybody! Today my card is being featured at Dee's Bugaboo Boutique in her Ruby Tuesday Scripture Freebie - Proverbs 17 v.17.  What I love about these freebies is not only the message itself, but the fonts and the design that she uses to make them so pretty to craft with.  Check them out, there might be some that you'd like!

Regardless of what a friend is going through, God calls us to always love them.  We can show them love, with a phone call, a prayer or even just a cutsie card (right up my alley!). So to all my friends, I will always love you!!  God bless you all!

Scrapbookaholic by Abby Challenge #7: Father's Day!

Welcome to another Scrapbookaholic by Abby Challenge.  This challenge is all about Father's day and a sketch.  Below is the sketch we used....

Here's my take on the sketch.

I decided to use the ribbon in a different direction.  After gluing the ribbon I realized I didn't used the solid color on the botton, so..... I just said forget! It's too cute anyway!!! LOL!  The paper is from The Guy Stack from DCWV and the sentiment is from Pink by Design.  The digi is from The Greeting Farm.  I had lot so fun coloring this little guy!

So head on over to Abby's Blog to enter the challenge.  There is an awesome sponsor for this challenge.  It's Sakura of America and the prize is a 6 pack of gelly roll pens.

Hope you all have a great Monday and an awesome rest of the week!  God bless!

    Spotlight Saturday

Welcome to my first Spotlight Saturday!!! I'm super excited because I decided to this little segment on my blog that would allow me to feature someone who inspires me or motivates me in someway.  There are so many crafters and blogs out there with a wealth of knowledge and unfortunately like some of you I'm not able to visit them all the time, but I know they are there.   So by doing this, I am able to give them the recognition that they deserve and perhaps a few more followers ;).

Today I am featuring a very good friend of mine from Scrappin' KY Momma

Tanya is always involved in something.  If she's not trying to collect cards for a little Aidan, she's trying to send cards to our troops.  One thing that I learned about Tanya is that she loves to use her imagine.  She sometimes shows little quick cute cards that she makes with it and it has helped me to do the same with mine.  She's extremely talented and just redid her whole blog! So go check her out her blog! She's currently participating in a Thank You to our Teacher's blog hop with a great prize in hand, so leave her some love too while you're there!

So now every week I will be scoping around to see who I can feature on my blog.  Stay tuned for next week's Spotlight blog and don't forget to share this post and leave a comment, you might be featured next! I hope everyone has a beautiful Saturday. God bless you all!

    Burned Biscuits

Good morning everyone! Yesterday was a little bit of slumpy day for me, no reason... just overwhelmed with a lot of things and thoughts.  But thanks to a few good friends, I found my way out of it.  It's really nice to know that in the midst of feeling down and out, you can always count on specific individuals to bring you out of it, whether they know you need it or not.    So a nice chat with a few friends and a great email from another just made my day and I wanted to share the email that one of them sent me with you all.  If you are in a little bit of slump, I hope it lifts you up as well. :)

          Burned Biscuits

When I was a kid, my mom liked to make breakfast food for dinner
every now and then.  And I remember one night in particular, when she
had made breakfast after a long, hard  day at work.  On that evening
so long ago, my mom placed a plate of eggs, sausage and extremely
burned biscuits in front of my dad.  I remember waiting to see if
          anyone noticed!

Yet all my dad did was reach for his biscuit, smile at my mom and ask
me how my day was at school.  I don't remember what I told him that
night, but I do remember watching him smear butter and jelly on that
ugly, burned biscuit.  He ate every bite of that thing......never
made a face nor uttered a word about it!

When I got up from the table that evening, I remember hearing my mom
apologize to my dad for burning the biscuits.  And I'll never forget
what he said:  "Honey, I love burned biscuits every now and then."

Later that night, I went to kiss Daddy good night, and I asked him if
he really liked his biscuits burned.  He wrapped me in his arms and
said, "Your momma put in a hard day     at work today, and she's real
tired.  And besides, a little burned biscuit never hurt anyone!"

As I've grown older, I've thought about that many times.  Life is
full of imperfect things and imperfect people.  I'm not the best at
hardly anything, and I forget birthdays and even anniversaries just
like everyone else.  But what I've learned over the years is that
accepting each other's faults--and choosing to celebrate each other's
differences--is one of the most important keys to creating a healthy,
          growing, and lasting relationship.

And that's my prayer for you today..... that you will learn to take
the good, the bad, and the ugly parts of your life and lay them at
the feet of God.  Because in the end, He's the only One who will be
able to give you a relationship where a burnt biscuit isn't a
          deal-breaker!

We could extend this to any relationship; in fact, understanding is
the base of any good relationship, be it  husband-wife or
          parent-child or friendship!

"Don't put the key to your happiness in someone else's pocket.  Keep
          it in your own."

So, please pass me a biscuit, and yes, the burned one will do just
fine.  And please pass this along to someone who has enriched your
life.  Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting
          some kind of battle.

"Life without God is like an unsharpened pencil.  It
          has no point."

Isn't it true how sometimes we just think we could do things on our own and really all we need to do is keep God in our lives and it makes such a big difference? and this goes for any circumstance. Whether it's work, home, school or even friends or your overall goal in life.  I hope that your life is not an unsharpened pencil!  God bless you all! :)

Welcome to another Joy's Life Design Team Thursday!  I'm in Miami and the weather here has been HOT, HOT, HOT! Today is also the last day of school and all that is on the brain is SUMMER!!!!! So for this week's theme we are talking about beach/pool themes.  I found this cute little digi stamp from Bugaboo Digi Stamps I also used the Imagine More cricut imagine cartridge for the sun. The background is from Erin Lee Creative's My Favorite Things stack (made the perfect clouds for me!!).  The I'd love to sea you sentiment is from Joy's Lots of Puns Stamps set.  I thought it went perfect with the image!!! You can see all her stamp sets by clicking here.

Welcome to another Whimsical Wednesday Challenge! This week it's all about Father's day.  I decided to try out my ecraft with a simple project.  I cut the bag from a collection from SVGcuts.  I used the Guy stack from DCWV for the bag and in the stack there were these cute little tags that you trim out.  Then I used a simple ribbon to add to the bag.  Guys don't like bling so this is as good as it gets for a gift bag! :)

This week's challenge is being sponsored by Joy's Life .   You can also click here to check out the rest of her awesome stamps!  Make sure to go to the Whimsical Wednesday challenge blog to enter your manly/father's day project for a chance to win the stamp set!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday! God bless!!!

Happy Birthday to my Baby Girl!

Happy Hump Day everyone! Today is a very special day in my family.  14 years ago today, my first born arrived.  This event changed my life forever.  I no longer worried about just me, but I worried about a little new life, a little new life that I knew I would be responsible for for the rest of my life.  She was beautiful, healthy and perfect and still is.  She has brought so much joy to my life and I'm really proud of the young lady that she's becoming.  She will be starting high school in the fall and I know she will just be successful at anything she does.

Elizabeth... you will always be my baby girl (and my Rockstar) and I will always love you!!!!

I made her this cute little card and it reflects her in so many ways because she always takes the cake!! She's so funny all the time and always wants to make people smile.  She's just a true beauty (but heck... I'm biased!)

I used Martha Steward paper and Pink by Design sentiment from the You Take the Cake collection. I hope everyone has a beautiful day!!! God bless!
