Lovebug Creations Guest Designer

Today is a very special day over at Lovebug Creations.  It is Mama Lovebug's 40th wedding anniversary!!!  Surprise!!!!!! Happy Anniversary Mama Lovebug!!!  Kimi asked me to help her celebrate this special day and I was most honored to be a part of it.  For this special event, I have made a layout to be placed in a shadowbox.  I couldn't get a good picture of it in the shadowbox, but will be sending it in the shadowbox for Mama Lovebug to put a picture of her choice of her and Papa Lovebug!!

Mama Lovebug... I hope you are super surprised and that you and Papa Lovebug have a beautiful day. May God bless you with many many more years of happiness. I love you!!!!

For this project, I used the silver paper from the DCWV Glitter Stack, the numbers and letters were from a Paper Pizazz (I cut each of them individually from the paper) the background paper I can't remember where it's from!  I used Creative Memories I used the blossom place an punch for the glitter paper and their paper flowers.  I also used KinderstampO's Vintage Love stamp set.

Don't forget to visit Lovebug Creations' other guest designer, the most talented Tanya from Scrappin' KY Momma.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you all have a great day and God bless!

Spotlight Saturday

If you are looking for Standing in God's Promises Faith Blog Hop click here

Welcome to another Spotlight Saturday time again!! For those of you visiting for the first time, every week I feature someone's blog on my blog. There are so many crafters and blogs out there with a wealth of knowledge and creativity and unfortunately like some of you, I'm not able to visit them all the time, but I know they are there. This is my way of giving them the recognition that they deserve and perhaps a few more followers ;-).

This week I am featuring an awesome, talented crafter  Amanda from Amanda's Crafts and More. Not only is Amanda a great card maker, but she's also a great scrapbooker!!!   Here's the cute card she made as a guest:

Here’s a little bit about Amanda:
Hey, my name is Amanda and I’m a stay at home mom{the greatest job in the world}. I have a son, a daughter, and an absolutely amazing husband... I have always been a crafty person even when I was I child.. About 5 years ago I got into scrapbooking, and just in the last year I started blogging and card making... I love creating crafty project, and it brings a smile to my face when someone who receives one of my crafts is so happy that I made something just for them...  Now, that I am in the blogging community I love sharing my project with others and meeting other crafters like my self..

Please stop by her blog and leave her some love! I'm sure she will love it and along the way she can make a few new friends! May you all have a beautiful Saturday and God bless!
Isn't this little rocker awesome!  I have this cartridge and haven't even opened it, so now I really have to look into it!

Standing on God's Promises Faith Blog Hop

Welcome to the God's Promises Faith Blog Hop.  If you arrived here from Carolyn's Mess Muddle and Fun you are in the right place.  If you just arrived at my blog, you should go to My Paper Tree House Studio in order to start at the beginning.  Every month a group of brave women get together to showcase the Glory of God.  This month we want to showcase His faithfulness during trying times, so kick back, relax and let the Lord touch your heart with His Truth!

Did you know that there are 1260 promises in the Bible?  I did not count them myself, but am blown away by the fact that each and every promise the Lord gives, He is faithful to fulfill.  It is pretty easy to believe this when times are easy and abundance surrounds our lives, but is that the same when trouble hits?

For my project I did a layout in order to continue on my faithbook.  My hope and prayer is that my kids will look at this in the future and see my love for the Lord and that I used the talent he gave me to not only leave them a legacy, but to reach out to others who are seeking his love and grace.

Speaking of grace.... this is exactly what my layout is about:

I wanted to journal something for my kids to look at in the future and feel inspired by it, so I grabbed a book that I have called Prayers & Promises for Women and I used the prayer that went right with the verse.  It really helped me realized that God's Grace is a gift to us and he sacrificed his life for us so we can have it even when we fall short of glory.

In the last couple of months, I had gone through a rough time with my job and I was just in a bad place. I spent days in and out crying, confused in a bad mood.   I forgot that it was not my place to worry about things, that I needed to leave it for God to deal with.  Well, wouldn't you know.... the minute I did that, things started to fall into place.  God took the things away from me that I did not need to worry about.  He started to reveal his will for me and he quietly whispered to me "It will be ok".  Since then, all I have been receiving is blessings in my life. And when I say blessings, I mean BLESSINGS!  The right people came to me and spoke to me and encourage me.  They prayed for me and I felt like I regain focused.  Why the turnaround you ask?  Because God's grace is sufficient for me and he loves me and died for me and he promised to never leave me nor forsake me.  If you are going through a rut in your life, I hope you see how God's grace is sufficient enough for you too.

So how about some blog candy?????  I will use random.org to choose a winner.  I will be giving away a Pink By Design's Olive Juice Background Stamp.  All you have to do is leave a comment.  You don't have to be a follower, but I would certainly love it if you were!  I love followers from all over the world, but unfortunately the candy must stay in the U.S.

Thanks for hopping through this faith hop.  Know that we are praying for you and really hope your eyes are opened to the Truth about the Lord's Faithfulness! :)  God bless you all!

"Rockstar" Explosion Box

Happy Monday! I was in a very crafty mood a couple of weekends ago and created some explosion boxes, I made this one a little different than the one for Little Madison and her family.  This specific one was made to go with my girls' cheerleading team colors, purple, pink, black and zebra.  It was super easy to make and simple enough to keep some "rocking" pictures in it.

I used Creative Time's Inspiring Words all around the outside of the box and they were all words that you can use in a sport as intense as cheerleading (Courage, Determination, Strength and Commitment).  Thanks for stopping by!  I Hope you enjoyed my little crafting project and that you have a wonderful day and God bless!

Spotlight Saturday

It's Spotlight Saturday time again!! Every week I will be scoping around to see who I can feature on my blog. I am going to do this a little different that before and also include short bio and a special project created by them. There are so many crafters and blogs out there with a wealth of knowledge and creativity and unfortunately like some of you, I'm not able to visit them all the time, but I know they are there. This is my way of giving them the recognition that they deserve and perhaps a few more followers ;-).
This week I am featuring another wonderfully talented lady, Haidee from Created2Bunique. Haidee is super talented and was the brains behind the Giveaway group to allow us all at a good peek to prizes that are up for grabs at other grabs.  She created this little cutie card which just makes me want to go to Hawaii.....

Here's a littel bit about Haidee:

"Hello, my name is Haidee and I am a full-time executive secretary, with two boys and married to a super FANTASTIC man. I have scrapbooked/crafted for over 12 years. I have just started to make greeting cards in the last couple of years. I was created to be unique and that is so true! My ideas come from out of no where and I work best at last minute projects. I have learned that what I like least, everyone likes most. Creating with my hands has been such a great enjoyment to express myself. I spend much time in my playroom-where I create. I never turn down a challenge with crafts and never turn down a good sale, hehehe. Oh, I forgot to mention that I really like shopping for clearance crafts too :)"

Please stop by her blog and leave her some love! I'm sure she will love it and along the way she can make a few new friends! May you all have a beautiful Saturday and God bless!

Guest Designer and Shaker Card for Crafty Sprouts

Hi everyone and welcome back! I am so excited to be a guest designer for Crafty Sprouts along with the fabulous Raven from Love4Stamps! Erika has done a great makeover on her blog (previously knows as Cricut Love) and when she invited me to be a guest designer, I gladly accepted! Raven has also made a project, so be sure to visit her blog and leave her some love as well.

I made this cute little shaker card for the Crafty Sprouts challenge.  I used KaDoodle Design Gnome Girl and colored her with my brand new promarkers! :)  I had been dying to play with them.  I love how smooth they are and the blending is very easy since I got the same colors that come in their blending sets (and then I cheated by using the chart.. hehehe).  I also used my Creative Memories custom cutting tools to get the shape of the frame, added a flower, some buttons, a little bling and used Joy's Life Wild Life Puns stamp set.  The sentiment went perfect with this digi!

Here's the a picture with the beads inside the window

Here's a close up of the colored image
This was my first time making a shaker card and I had fun doing it.  I had some challenges with it as it usually is when you try something new, but it wasn't too bad.  Hop on over to Crafty Sprouts and link up your shaker card!  Erika has a wonderful giveaway and you don't want to miss it (can you say scrap'n easel!!)  Also, if you comment on my blog as well as Raven's blog and leave a comment on Crafty Sprouts letting her know you did so, you will have a chance to win a $10 gift certificate from Peachy Keen Stamps!!!

Happy Friday everybody and God bless!

Maddie's Explosion Box

Happy Monday everybody! A couple of weekends ago I was super into making explosion boxes.  That explosion box blog hop really got me going!!! My sister came over one day and saw the explosion box that I made for the hop and wanted me to make her one specifically for Little Madison and her family.

I have to tell you Maddie's story.  She is a sweet little 2 year old girl fighting the big battle of cancer.  She was diagnosed at 20 months old with a rare form of brain cancer.  Her family is constantly trying to fundraise for a cure for childhood cancer.  We need this so bad and I hope that people realize the importance of how just a small donation can make a different.  Her father is currently seeking sponsors for The Ultimate Hike in Atlanta, Georgia.  Him and his brother will be hiking 28.3 miles of Appalachian Foothills Trail in ONE day, in efforts to raise money towards finding the cure for children's cancer, the #1 cause of death by disease in children.  This is taking place on October 1st, 2011 and they are trying to reach the goal of $5,000.  Up to date, they have raised $780.  You can see their team site by clicking here.  Again every little bit helps.  Just this week I heard from my good friend Kimi of a sad story, a 14 year old girl lost her battle to cancer.  She was in her nieces' class.  I can only imagine what that family is going through and this is one of the many stories that should prompt us to help in any way we can.  I hope that you will consider making a small donation to Team Maddie Star in an effort to find a cure for this horrible disease. I gave up my crafting money for a month to donate to their cause.  Won't you consider doing something similar?

Now let's move on to things that make us a little happier.  Here are the pictures of the explosion box for Maddie:

I used My Creative Time's Inspiring Words Stamp set for the outside of the box, but made it very much family oriented (Live, Laugh, Love, Dream).  I really hope they like it!! I'm only able to blog about it because they don't follow my blog (hehehe... sneaky ah?).  Thank you so much for visiting and I hope you have a wonderful day! God bless!

Still Hanging

Hi everyone! I received an email that was based on a true story and I thought I would share.  As most of you may know, I work for Miami-Dade County in Florida and we are going through a very rough time with the budget cycle and balancing the budget.  For most it has meant a huge paycut for others it has meant their jobs.  I have a friends who sent me this email and this is what she had said in the email

"So, with everything going on at work, I decided to take it easy this morning and left for work around 10am. I've been trying very hard to find my inner peace and I finally did. On my way in to work I was at a stop light where there's usually a Homeless Voice person collecting. I was listening to Carrie Underwood's How Great Thou Art and was inspired to give the man a dollar. Instead of handing me their usual newsletter, attached is what I received. I hope it touches you the way it did me"

This is the letter that was handed to her:

Still Hanging
I finally learned what life is about
Life is about hanging on when your heart's had enough
Giving more when you wanna give up
You just wanna quit
Now know that you are annointed and appointed to win
For you can  do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens you,
Knowing if God be for you, who can be against you
So hang in there you just can't quit
You see everyday your faith will be challenged
But a winner is non more than a loser who didn't quit
No don't give up on God for he will never give up on you
For he is always there
So trust him even when you can't trace him
walking by faith and not by sight
Understanding that the battle is not yours it's the Lord's
Now be strong and never give up or give in
For with God you got a friend in whom you can depend
Now hang on in there you can win!!!! - Ronald Simmons

I hope that this inspired you as much as it inspired me and reminded you that God will never leave you nor forsake you.  Be strong, show your faithfulness and believe that all things will work out for good.
God bless you all!

Friendship Wiper Card

Good Monday morning everyone!  This weekend was a crazy weekend.  I worked on some projects for clients which I will show later on in the week, but I also worked on a fun card to enter in a contest.  Erika from Cricut Love has a great video on making a wiper card.  These cards are fun, super cute and easy to make.  My version is below:

I used Ebony from Greeting Farm and used KinderstampO's Friendship stamp set.  All three stamps are from that set. My lighting was horrible last night, so I think I overlooked the red (hehe...) I still had a lot of fun making it though.  Go ahead and give it a try! If you link up your wiper card on her blog, you will be in a drawing for a K Andrews Positive Thoughts stamp set!!!

Have a great day everybody and God bless!!

Card for Little Leah and Little Madison

Hi everybody and welcome!  I am so glad it's the end of the week.  It's truly been a long one, but God has been good and I'm glad that I can just leave things in his hands.  I have had some challenges at work with decisions that I will have to eventually make, but I know (as my 14 year old daughter had to remind me) that his plan is bigger for me.  In the midst of all these problems, I really can't complain about because there are two families who are suffering because their babies are so sick.  So my little struggles really make me be grateful.

Little Leah and Little Madison are two little girls that are struggling to survive.  Doctors cannot determine what is wrong with 4 month old Leah and 20 month old Madison is fighting a rare type of cancer.  They are both in the hospital but hopefully will go home soon and it prompted me to put together a little drive to send them and their family cards of love, faith, inspiration and encouragement.  I hope that you can join me in the effort.  You can find additional information by clicking here.

I made this card (and a duplicate) to send to both of these families.  I really hope that it encourages them to stay faithful and continue praying because with God all things are possible.  Please keep both of these little girls and their families in your prayer.  Don't forget to check out the Facebook Event page for additional information.

For this card I used:
Emma's Inspiring Words, Inspiring Words {Accents} and Curly label Die
Accent Essentials (pink circle and green border)
Greeting Farm angel Anya
Paper Trey Ink cardstock and ribbon
Swiss dots and D'vine Swirl embossing folder
DCWV glitter card

I am also entering it in her Throwback Thursday Challenge.   The sentiment was suppose to be Prayer and not Faith, but my cuttlebug was a little hungry and ate it (I guess it was stuck and I didn't notice it... {sad face}). You can get more information on the challenge by clicking on the link.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a great weekend. God Bless!!!

Ruby Tuesday

Happy Tuesday everybody! For today's Ruby Tuesday I made the card with special gifts given to me by my special friend Tanya.  She sent me 3 packs of awesome Paper Trey Ink paper and matching ribbons.  The card base, green matting and ribbon are from PTI.  I love the brightness and purity of the colors!

I've made a card using the digi for James 3:18 "Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness".  It's truly amazing that when you seek the peace of God and implement in your life how your life can become so righteous.  I see this day in day out, at home, work, at the store, park... anywhere you go and I am so blessed for his wisdom (especially when I lack it!).  So I remind everyone to seek the peace and the righteous life will come.

You can see all the free digis and cards made with the digis by visiting Dee's Bubaboo Boutique.  Every Tuesday she features a new digi with various designers.  Go check out her site and grab a free digi!  Have a great Tuesday and God Bless!
