Welcome to the Calendar Blog Hop! I am really excited about this blog hop for various reasons.   This is actually my first self hosted blog hop and I have a great group of ladies that are joining me!!  I don't know about you, but I can't wait to see their projects! I also have some awesome blog candy to give away thanks to Ms. Emma from My Creative Time, the Whimsical Calendar Day Stamp set! Here's what it looks like:

I actually used this set for my project today and just to help the winner even more, I am including the matching die:

To be eligible to win, you must be a follower of my blog and must comment on all the participating blogs.  I will choose a winner on Monday morning.  Here is a list of the participants:

Now on to my project.  I had so much fun creating this.  This was my first in many areas.  I have never created a mini album and I have never used the cinch which I have had for almost a year. I made this mini album with a love theme.  I must warn you, this is very picture heavy... so I apologize in advance (although I didn't take pictures of every single page to save you all some time!)

These are the products that I used:
Echo Park cardstock (Victoria Garden and Be Mine)
American Crafts Ribbon
EK Success Adornment fibers
My Creative Time Banner Kit and Whimsical Calendar Days stamp sets
Close To My Heart Frames, Tags and Borders stamp and banner and mixed shapes chip board
Kinderstampo Vintage Love and Say it in Type stamp sets
Coordination and Recollections cardstock
The Twinery twine - charcoal and blossom
Creative Memories Tag punch
Black chipboard
Cinch

I added a pink bling to special days such as Valentines day, Christmas and New Years as well as some space for journaling.  This is a great album to give as a gift for a couple.  It is for sale so if you are interested, please feel free to send me an email at scrappyzeni at gmail dot com.

I hope you enjoyed it! Now keep on hopping to the wonderful Pam from Lovebug Creations! Don't forget to leave a comment on all the blogs to be eligible to win the stamp and die set from My Creative Time!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Good morning everybody! I hope you all had a wonderful thanksgiving with your family and ate lots and lots of turkey! lol! Welcome to another Crafty Sprouts challenge.  This time is all about tags. Here is what I made:

I made this christmas snowflake tag using the Wrap It Up cricut cartridge and My Creative Time's curly label.  The sentiment is from Crafty Sprouts' Have a Cool Yule set.  Being that Christmas is quickly approaching, this is becoming my favorite set! I love the "cool" christmas sentiments!  Here are the stamps in that set:

SURPRISE TANYA!!!!!!

Welcome to Tanya's Surprise Birthday Blog Hop!!!! I am so happy that Kari from Purplefuntastick Creations put this blog hop together and asked me to start the party off!! For those of you who may not know Tanya from Scrappin' KY Momma, she is an awesome, talented and dedicated crafter who loves to inspire people.  She is the leader of the Paper Hoarders group on facebook and keeps it going like if we were a big, happy, crafty family!  Now it's our turn to show her some love on her special day and let her know how much we appreciate her.  So Tanya, I hope you are inspired with our creations just as much as you inspire us!

On to my project and gift for Tanya.  I made her 2 frames for her to have pictures of her 2 children Candace and Colton. I sure hope that she likes them!! I added some pictures that I grabbed from facebook, but once she gets them she can change them to whatever she wants.

I used Echo Park's Victoria Gardens collection for both of these frames and sealed them with mod podge.  For Candace's frame I used the font from the Once Upon a Princess cartridge and I stickled it.  I also made the flowers from the Art Philosophy cartridge and added some pearls and heart pearls for Martha Stewart.  For Colton's frame I used the font from Don Juan and I stickled as well. For the banner I used My Creative Time's Build a Banner Kit.  The letters for the banner are from KinderStampO's Say It in Type stamp set.

Now on to some blog candy!! I am giving away to one lucky winner the wonderful Cricut Yummy Imagine Cartridge!

I Am Thankful

Today is a day where we give thanks for many things.  We give thanks for our family, our friends, our jobs, our lives.  I personally thank God every day of my life.  There are days I complain, but then I think of the person that has no job, the one who lost a family member, the ones that have no one to sit and have a dinner and a conversation with, the ones that have never experienced love, the ones that are fighting a deadly disease and the ones that have sadly enough never experienced God, it reminds me to be thankful instead of complaining.

I am thankful for my beautiful family who constantly supports me in every which way.  For my husband who stands by me, for my children who love me unconditionally, for my parents who have cared for me all my life and continue to do so by praying for me, for my sisters who I love with all my heart, for my job that pays my bills and allows me to go and see the doctor without a huge expense, for my home that I am able to afford, for my friends who are there for me when I need someone to talk to and for my crafty friends who inspire me and keep me going in doing what I love.

When things are not going right in my life and I'm down, I remind myself that things could be worse.  God brings me to that point for one reason and that's to get me closer to him.  To remind me that he is there and that he is my strength.  Let's be reminded of the things we do have in our lives and be thankful for them not just for today, but everyday of the year and also be reminded that when life is not rosy, God is there to get us through.... but only if we let him.  May my beautiful family and friends have a great day with their loved ones.  Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm Thankful…

Crafty Spouts Challenge Day - Anything Goes!!

Welcome to another Crafty Sprouts' challenge! Today is a Be Free kind of day, so anything goes!!  I decided to create a gatefold card that I was inspired by in a magazine.  It's fairly easy to do and I will post the instructions below.  I used the Have a Cool Yule stamp set from Crafty Sprouts.  I just love this stamp set because it is so much fun for Christmas cards and projects!   I also used Creative Memories punches for the scalloped tag and the snow flakes.  The paper is from Echo Park.

This is a great card to include a gift certificate in the pocket or even insert a picture or a couple of candy canes.  I will be adding a lot of greetings to this and sending a special family member who lives far away.

Instructions:
1. Cut a 12x6 piece of card stock, one 9x6 and one 8x4 inch of card stock (all same color).
2. Score the 12x6 sheet at 3" and 9"
3. Score the 9x6 sheet (long side horizontal) at 3"
4. Fold flaps of 12" paper inward.  Then fold the 9" paper at the score line.
5. Align the 9" sheet of paper to the right side of the 12" sheet of paper and adhere.
6. Take the 8x4 sheet and score 1" away from each end on 3 sides (long side horizontal).  This will be the part to use as a pocket.
7.  Use a scallop border punch or any border punch of your choice on the non scored side (you may need to adjust the edges with a pair of scissors to even them out once you fold)
8. Fold in the sides to create a pocket and adhere sides to the front center flap and bottom to the reverse side of the center flap.
8.  Cut designer paper to fit the front and insides.
9.  Decorate as you wish.

Here's the Crafty Sprouts stamp set that I used:

So there you have it! I would love to see if you gave this a try, so please let me know if you have so I can come and visit your blog.  Don't forget to visit the rest of the Crafty Sprouts' Design Team!!

As a bonus, here's a sneaky peek at what the next release will be:

And don't forget about the Calendar Blog hop on thanksgiving weekend.  It will be filled with lots of calendar related projects!

Have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas and a winner!

Hi everyone! I've been super busy this week taking care of family stuff and have not been able to post, but I didn't forget about a winner for the Faith Blog Hop.  I was very blessed with all the comments and I sure hope that others were blessed as well.  Random.org has chosen #4
What a great project and the letters are so nice

Scraping Miami, please email me at scrappyzeni@gmail.com to claim your prize.

Now for some crafty eye candy.  November and December are my favorite months of the year.  Although life can become very hectic this time of year,  I never forget to be thankful for so many things and I also love that we gear up to celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Since I started crafting heavily last year, I love to take the time to make special gifts for special people, including Christmas cards.  I decided to go ahead and start making some so I don't fall behind.

I really had a lot of fun making these.  I used the Peachy Keen Stamps Winter Peekers and Phrases and Crafty Sprouts'  Have a Cool Yule stamp set.  I colored them with my prismacolor pencils and embelished with some ribbon, stickels and a little bling.  I love these little fellows and bought them last year, but was afraid to color!    So I broke them out this year.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful rest of the weekend!

I am entering this into Wacky Wednesday Challenge.
