My Rockstar Weekend and Cheerleading Dolls

I can't believe the AMAZING weekend that the girls and I had!!! As most of you know, my 2 girls are in an all star cheerleading team.  This past weekend was the St. Petersburgh World Spirit Federation Championship.  Rockstar took all 5 teams for this competition.  Four out of our five teams got first place!!! The fifth team was a little tinis and they got 3rd, but my gosh!!! What a perfomance they put on!!! I love to watch them dance to their disney songs and just looking at each other to make sure they are all doing the right thing, and they love to shake their butts!!!!  Our Minis won the grand champion (which is the highest score within all divisions in their level) and the Juniors won the Viewer's Choice Award, which was the award for the most memorable and exciting routine.  Not only did these two teams win the additional prizes (not to mention braggin' rights!), but they were given a paid bid to go to a world's competition, which consists of other countries competing along with or national teams.  This is such a great opportunity for them and I am so proud of their hard work and dedication!  I have never seen a group of kids stick together and support each other in the manner that they did during this competition.  To top it off, the parents were incredible! The energy that they had cheering all the kids on was incredible we were the loudest ones in that place.  We were constantly getting comments for our program and for our parents.  My daughter actually heard someone in the bathroom saying "that Rockstar team has to be on steroids or something, did you see how they hit every stunt!?" and then my daughter walks out of the stall with her uniform and they didn't know what to say!  This is not just a team of competitors but they are truly amazing.  And the coaches... my gosh!!! I have never seen coaches that are dedicated, caring, loving, understanding, supporting but at the same time tough, than the three that are at Rockstar.  I am so proud to be a part of the Rockstar family and I will forever be grateful for them opening up their door to me and making me part of their family.  I love each and everyone of them kids, parents and coaches alike.

Well, I've also been talking about some cheerleading dolls that I had been working on for a while.  For these away competitions, the team usually give the kids something memorable to place on their bedroom door.  I offered to make the dolls as something to use for one of these competitions.  Little did I know the amount of time that it would take to do 82 dolls.  But I can also tell you that the look on their faces were absolutely priceless and they were so happy to receive them.  Here's what they looked like:

We have lots of bling and glitter on our uniform so I wanted to make sure that it was included.  I love the Peacky Keen faces too.  They were really awesome for this project.  Hope you enjoy! We have 2 more competitions in the next 3 weeks and a performance at the Marlins game 2 weeks later along with another competition the day after.  So I will be pretty busy, but hopefully I will be able to give you updates on their status during their competitions.  I love my Rockstar Family!!!! God bless everyone!

Winners of Joy's Birthday and Kids Crafts Blog Hops

What a busy week it has been as we are getting ready for a big cheerleading competition in Tampa.  I've had the pleasure of making the gifts for 82 cheerleaders and it has been very time consuming, but the look on their faces will be awesome to see when they get them.  Reason why I haven't posted the winners for last weekend's blog hops! Blog post and pictures for the cheerleading and competition results to come later next week.

Last weekend I had the pleasure of participating in two different blog hops.  One was for Super Joy's birthday.  I had a great time making the project and looking at everyone elses as well.  I was enjoying everyone's comments and I want to thank each and everyone of you for stopping by.  The winner for this blog hop and of the Joy's Life Yummy Pun's Stamp is as chosen by Random.org:

#126  Sugarlove

The other blog hop I (or should I say, Elizabeth and Jessica!) participated in was the Kids Crafts Blog Hop.  I couldn't believe how much fun my girls had not only making the projects, but reading the comments.  They were so excited to be a part of this awesome blogging world and to show their little crafty side.  The winner for this blog hop and the surprise gift was:

#7 Alex

Ladies, please email me your mailing address to scrappyzeni@gmail.com and I will get your prizes out to you.  Congratulations to both and God bless!!

Stamp Coloring

Hi everyone! Well, it's the end of a long weekend for me and a start of a new week tomorrow.  I'm hoping to get a lot accomplished this week, not just at work but at home and on the creative side.  We shall see how it all goes!  Tomorrow is my Mom's birthday.  She's a very special lady in my life and I just don't know what I would do without her. I love her dearly and I wanted to make her a special card that would express my feelings for her but in my own creative way.   I decided that I would step out of my comfort zone of die cutting and color a stamp.  Never really considered a good artist in this way and I have always been intimidated by it, but I found that it was very therapeutic!!

When I first discovered Peachy Keen Stamps, I purchased this cute little Natalee stamp but never used it. I decided to make a birthday card for Mom with it and combine it with My Creative Time Mom, You Rock collection stamp.  Here's the final product:

It's a little hard to see, but the card base color is purple and the ink on the sentiment is also purple.  Hope you guys enjoy it!  God bless!!

Kids Crafts Blog Hop

If you are looking for Joy's Birthday Blog Hop click here

Welcome to the Kids Crafts Blog hop! You should have arrived here from Jessica's blog at The Creative Stamper's Spot.  If you are here from elsewhere, you should start the hop by visiting Jen at The Purple Scrapbooker.  We have lots of kids showing off their creative skills and you don't want to miss them!! Here's a list of the participants in case you get lost along the way or want to re-visit any of them.

Both my girls  Jessica (11) and Elizabeth (13) were very exited to be a part of this blog hop. Thank you Jen for putting this together! They love to be creative and at times do join me during my craft time and even help me when I have big projects!   Here's a picture of them taken at their cheerleading christmas party, so you know who my little crafty princesses are:

Jessica (on the left) made a card for her cheerleading coach for her birthday.  She used her cuttle kids and cut each piece and arranged them by herself.  No help from Mom!! She decorated both the inside and outside of the card.  She used the colors that are from Rockstar Cheer, which are black, purple, pink and zebra print.  Needless to say, her coach absolutely loved it!!!

Elizabeth is in 8th grade and has always loved art.  She is currently taking a ceramics class in school and has made several projects.  She also decided to do something for her coaches, so she made this plate with the same colors for Rockstar Cheer (abbreviated on the plate) and put the coaches initials in it (James, Shannon, Megan).  You can't really see the purple that good, but trust me, it's purple! They haven't received this yet.  Luckily they don't follow my blog, so I don't think they will find out about this! LOL!

Elizabeth also altered this flower pot and decorated with acrylic paint and added the ribbon.  She took the picture herself  :).  She placed the pot upside down and did a base color.  Then she sparingly poured different colors and let it drip down to dry, giving it the upside down dripping effect.

The girls would like to give away some blog candy.  So if you leave a comment, a winner will be chosen on Tuesday, January 22nd and a small gift will be sent their way.  You do not need to be a follower, but I would love it if you chose to!  Thanks for stopping by and showing your support to all the wonderful kids and their creative crafts! Now you can head on over to Annette from Addicted to Crafts.  Happy hopping and God bless!

It's Joy's Birthday Blog Hop!!!!

I am super excited to be a part in celebrating Super Joy’s birthday with this blog hop. Thank you Joy for inviting me!!  You should have arrived here from Laura's page Laura Lees Dream.  Wasn't her project awesome!? If you arrived here by other means, then head on over to our guest of honor's page Joy's Life to start the blog.  There are so many talented individuals and they all have great projects for you to see.  Here’s a list of everyone participating:
                           Zeni <<<You are here!
              Theresa<<< Next!
I wanted to contribute to this blog hop by making something that I can send to Super Joy for so she can continue her joyous celebration (no pun intended!).  I decided to do this little birthday gift bag and card.
Inside this bag?... A SURPRISE!!!!! J

I made both the card and bag coordinating by using an embossed brown cardstock from core’dinations and the patterned cardstock from DCWV Green Stack collection.
The bag is made from tags, bags, boxes and more cartridge and I embellished it with an i-top brad (using the DCWV paper) and added some bling to it as well with my i-rock!.  I also used Joy’s Life Happy Birthday stamp from the All Around Sentiments collection for the back side of the bag.  The collection is great for different occasions and the round look to them is easy to use.

Joy revealed to us that every year since she was 8 years old, she has had a strawberry birthday, strawberry cake, strawberry icing, strawberry ice cream, strawberry soda, etc… so to continue with the tradition, I embellished the bag with a strawberry stem from the cartridge Rock Princess.

You can’t tell in the picture, but I used action wobbles for stamp happy birthday sentiment.  The top sentiment is from Great Impressions.  I tore the paper and inked the edes with Tim Holtz's Vintage Photo distress ink .  And the twine was just a little extra!!!

To continue with the celebration, Joy has graciously offered to sponsor the blog candy (thank you Joy!).  The lucky winner will receive the Joy’s Life Yummy Puns Stamp Set.  How awesome is that?! All you have to do is leave a comment below.  You do not have to become  follower, but I would so love it if you did!!  I will be picking a winner on Tuesday, February 22nd.
Joy is also having a free shipping offer on her products, so don’t miss out! click here to see the awesome stamps and the Vinylology DVD that she has!  You can also grab her cool new button for your blog while you're there, I did!!!
Thanks for visiting and I hope you have fun hopping! Now on to sweet Theresa from the Scrapbooking Queen.  She's going to have an awesome project for you!  God bless!

A Baby in Need of Smiles - Please Help Little Aidan

My friend Tanya from Scrappin KY Momma needs help from all of us crafters.  She knows this little boy and his family and would like to send him cards.  Here's his story...

Aidan is a sweet lil 2 year old who was recently diagnosed with T Cell Leukemia. On Wednesday, he had a port installed in his chest, spinal tap, bone marrow, and chemo in his spine. He did GREAT! This lil guy is such a trooper.  His parents have accepted that their BABY has Leukemia.. NOT the easiest thing to accept, but their faith in God and their support system have kept them going. T-Cell Leukemia has a high cure rate although chemo will be continued for quite a while. Lil Aidan LOVES mail, like any 2 year old does. So....

Let's get our crafting supplies out and send this lil guy some LOVE!!!  Pass this on to all your crafty friends. I think we can all take a couple minutes and make something special for him that will bring LOTS of smiles and he can look at over and over.  We all know how laughing and smiling can be good for the soul.  Let's give him this much for him to enjoy while he's battling this horrible disease.  I have no doubt in my mind that God can perform a miracle in this beautiful child.  Please keep him and his family in your prayers.

You can mail your cards to:

Lots of Love Blog Hop

Welcome to the Lots of Love blog hop!   This is your stop after visiting Momo from Made by Momo.  If not, you can start the blog hop with Kimi and Pamela from Lovebug Creations.  There are lots of talented ladies so you don't want to miss any of their projects!  Below is a list of all the participants just in case you get lost along the way:

Zeni from Scrappy Zeni  (You are here)

I want to first of all thank Kimi and Pam for inviting me to participate in this blog hop and to Michelle for introducing them to me.  This was a start of a great facebook friendship and it hope it stays that ways!!!

For this blog hop I have two projects to share with you all.  One is actually something I made as a Christmas present, but I thought it was so pretty that I wanted to include it. This is a shadowbox that I made for my best friend and her husband. I love making shadow boxes! I think they make such a great gift and add a little something to a layout. I used the tags, bags, boxes and more cartridge for the tag, tie the knot cartridge for the "love" written on the tag and accent essentials for the frame.  I purposely didn't glue the top of the frame so that she can slide her favorite picture inside the frame and change it whenever she wanted.

I also made this love coupon book for my husband.

Isn't the cover so cute!!!  I love the little couple holding hands! If you enlarge the picture, you can see that I used perfect pearls mist for most of the cuts to add a little shimmery look. I also used Peachy Keen Stamps for their faces (everyday character faces and princess faces).

I went a little different with this one and used my Creative Memories Story Book Creator 3 software.  I find that using the digital pages for the coupons is a little easier and gives it a little more of a professional look.  I took pictures separately for the pages so that you can see the types of coupons I used, but binded them together with my YourStory Photo.  I love doing little books, so this tool is perfect for me!

I tried to give him coupons for things that he would really like.  He normally does the laundry in the house because my weekends are tied up with the girls' cheerleading, so I figured I would include that one to give him a break. LOL! :) and he loves to go fishing and golfing, so I'm sure he won't have a problem using any of these. The get out of trouble free does have restrictions though! :)

Now for some blog candy!! I know you all can use a small album in some way, so I'm giving away a Creative Memories picfolio album with a set of journaling and mat papers to one lucky winner.

All you have to do is be a follower of my blog and leave a comment telling me of your favorite valentine's memory.  For an extra entry, you can grab my button for your blog.  Just be sure to leave a separate comment for that with your blog address so that I can follow you too!  I will pick a winner on Monday February 7th.  Now hop on over to Madison from Funky Cards.   I Hope you guys have a great hopping day and a wonderful upcoming Valentine's day!   God bless!!

I Love You a Latte

Today I decided that I have waaaaaay to many paper scraps and I needed to find a way to make it easier for me to search and use these scraps.  Truly, if I throw them away it's scrappin' abuse!  So I went and got a Sterilite 3 drawer container and seperated the patterned scraps from the solid scraps from the black, pink and zebra scraps (for those of you who may not know, my daughters cheerlead for Rockstar Cheer and their colors are black, purple, pink and zebra print, I have a lot of those scraps!!!).  I find now that it's much easier to look through them and decide what kind of project I want to do or just simply create a card, SO I DID!!!!!

I used my imagine (best friends and beyond birthdays) for the cup, grabbed a green glitter card that I had and used the brown and printed cardstock from my scraps box, the sentiment is one of my favorites from Pink by Design.  I'm going to save this card and give it to my hubby for valentine's day.  I love coffee (especially starbucks!) and I love my hubby, so it's definitely appropriate.  Hope you enjoy and God bless!
